We always recommend choosing outfits that feel like you and your family. You don’t need everyone to match perfectly. Instead, think about coordinating colours, textures, and tones that work well together while still allowing everyone’s personality to come through.

Comfort matters too, especially with little ones. If your kids feel comfortable in what they’re wearing, they’re much more likely to relax and enjoy the session.

And if you’re completely stuck, don’t worry. We’re always happy to offer suggestions and help you put together outfits that photograph well together.

Our family sessions are designed around your family and what you’d like photographed, rather than a strict number of people.

For immediate family sessions, we’ll focus on you and your household. If you’d like to bring grandparents, siblings and their families, or a larger group of extended family, we have options designed specifically for those sessions.

If you’re not sure which option is the right fit for your family, we’re always happy to help you figure it out.

That’s okay! Kids don’t always follow the plan, and honestly, some of our favourite photographs happen when they don’t.

We don’t expect your children to sit perfectly, smile on cue, or behave a certain way for the entire session. We’ll give them space to play, explore, interact with you, and be themselves while we capture those moments along the way.

Sometimes, if we know your little ones may have a harder time sitting still or warming up to the camera, we’ll suggest doing an activity together instead. Family bowling, getting ice cream, baking cookies in your kitchen, or simply doing something your family loves can take the pressure off and allow us to capture those candid, genuine moments as they naturally happen.

Sometimes we might take a little break, change things up, or try something completely different. Our goal isn’t to make your family fit into a pose. It’s to capture your family as you are.

And don’t worry, we’ve got this. Between Kim’s 13+ years as an elementary school teacher and our experience photographing families, we’ve learned that sometimes the best thing we can do is let kids be kids.

Absolutely! We love when families bring their furry friends along.

Our pets are such an important part of our families, and we think they deserve to be included in the photographs too. We can make time for a few photos with your dog, then give them a little break while we focus on the rest of the family.

If your pup is a little energetic or doesn’t love sitting still, that’s okay too. We’re used to working with all kinds of personalities, both two and four-legged!

We love when your family session takes place somewhere that feels like you. This could be a favourite outdoor spot, a place your family enjoys spending time together, or even the comfort of your own home.

If your family is more comfortable doing something together, we can also build the session around an activity. Going for ice cream, playing at your favourite park, baking cookies, or simply spending time together at home can create some of the most natural and meaningful photographs.
